7Reasons for AVA Application:
-
The Swan Creek region averages about 1000ft to 2000ft elevation providing more moderate temperatures and optimum precipitation levels most suited for vinifera grapes
-
The rocky, loamy soil is loaded with minerals which contribute a unique flavor to the wines and provide excellent drainage
-
On average, the Swan Creek area receives less precipitation than the surrounding areas, giving our grapes a better chance to ripen and avoid rot and disease
-
On average, the Swan Creek area has a longer, warmer growing season than most of the Yadkin Valley, which makes the grape juice more balanced and concentrated
-
Swan Creek receives continuous breezes from the north and west which are beneficial for grape growing
