FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Heroes Homecoming, a Cumberland County-wide initiative developed to recognize and appreciate veterans for their courage and sacrifice, will honor Vietnam Veterans from November 4 through 11, 2017. A range of events is planned, including a Veterans Day Parade, the installation of The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and a Heroes Homecoming bike rally.
The 2017 Heroes Homecoming committee is asking businesses to participate by setting a Missing Man Table at their place of business. The committee is working alongside Rolling Thunder — Chapter 1 to ensure proper protocol is met with each table setup. With this countywide display, Cumberland County will secure a spot in the Guinness World Records.
All Cumberland County businesses are invited to participate in this initiative. The Heroes Homecoming committee will provide all materials needed and protocol for the table. Participating businesses need to rope off or clearly indicate their table is for display only. The table should be on display from November 1 through 12, 2017.
Business owners interested in being a part of this record-setting commemoration of those Missing in Action should contact Angie Brady at the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau at 910-483-5311 or abrady@visitfayettevillenc.com.
